I publish occasionally on international economic development. I received a Bachelors degree from McGill University and Masters from Johns Hopkins University.

I took a trip to northern Ghana back in 2005, and stayed for a few days in Tamale, the largest town in the region. I learned Ghanaians pronounce the name with the accent on the first syllable, not second. Something about the difference in pronunciation seemed like a metaphor for the different ways of understanding of this incredible continent.
